Summary

Army recruit Carrie surprises her mother and sister when she arrives home on an
emergency leave from her platoon, days before being shipped out to her new assignment.

She is a combat veteran who served as an interrogator in Afghanistan. Emergency Leave has been performed in London. Elaine has also written for the TV miniseries So Proudly We Hailed. She received her M.A. from the University of Illinois, Chicago. She works as an outreach coordinator for homeless veterans at the VA Los Angeles Regional Office.

Joanne McGee-Lamb

Joanne has always loved Radio Plays as it lets the audience's imaginations play a big role. She had been an actor for over 50 years playing everything from, Bag Ladies to Queens. She performed at the Mark Taper Forum as Sladjana and the Dutchess in the world premiere of, Archduke. Other theaters include, Utah Shakespeare festival, Florida Rep, Navada Shakespeare Co., Mainstreet Theatre Co. and Senora Rep, and Crown City Theatre to name a few. She has also done TV, Voice Overs and Film. She has also won awards and is most proud of an LA Ovation Award, and 2 Kennedy Center Awards. Happy to be in a Recording Studio again and a big THANK YOU to Bernadette and Opendoorplayhouse.org for using me as a Director and an Actor in Scars, Annie and Frannie series, and Lost Dog. Also as a director for Christensen Brothers, A Wake, and Corpse Pose.

Sofía is a born and raised Chilean who completed her BFA in Performing Arts at AMDA. On-camera credits include Augment on Amazon Prime, Camille, Five-Tool Player, Feeling Vertigo, and Imposter The Series, among others. Some of her theatrical credits include Musical Theatre West Spring 23’ Educational Tour, In The Heights as Daniela, Rent as Mimi, Fame as Carmen, The Pajama Game, and Cassandra, originating the role of Lachesis/Athena in The Hollywood Fringe Festival 22’. Catch her next performance at The Polar Express Train Ride in Perris, CA this November/December!

Marta Portillo is an L.A.-based actor. Her work has been seen on film, tv and in theatre. Recent theatre credits include NATIVE GARDENS at Coachella Valley Rep, OPTIKA PIÑATA an immersive theatre experience at the La Jolla Playhouse POP UP Without Walls event, SEÑOR PLUMMER’S FINAL FIESTA  with Rogue Artists Ensemble, and ISLAND OF THE BLUE DOLPHINS with the Laguna Beach Playhouse.
