Summary

 Three women have an adventure camping in the wild.

Writer/Actor: Virginia Linden (Nicole)

Virginia Linden is an Actress and the Playwright of “NIGHT OF THE DESERT”. She’s thrilled to have this be her second piece chosen for Open Door Playhouse’s Podcasts. Her first was “ESCAPE FROM COTTAGE WOODS” which she wrote and directed. She’s especially honored to be part of this month’s Open Door Women’s Festival, celebrating female Actresses, Writers and Directors in Theater. Virginia is deeply grateful to Producer Bernadette Armstrong for creating this beautiful venue for storytellers.

Virginia produces short films as well and is especially proud of “BLUE RIBBON SPECIAL” which her husband/creative partner Keith Barber wrote and directed: https://youtu.be/-Q6BQk3-IPE … It made the circuit in film festivals. Virginia is also a self-professed Cowgirl! She’s passionate about her lifelong love of horseback riding and horses! What a joy to be back in the saddle!! It’s also a treat to be working with treasured ‘real life’ friends Amy Marcs & Kim Hlavac, along with her dear childhood friend and esteemed Director Shelley Curtis-Litvak at the helm! Virginia is proud to be a long-time member of SAG.AFTRA and Actors Equity Association.

Shelley had a long career in daytime television. She is a 6-time Emmy Award winner for her roles as a Producer and Director. She worked full-time until approximately 2010. Since that time Shelley has been directing as a guest director and has instructed young television producers and directors in the U.S. and abroad. Her career highlight are: Producer/Director, General Hospital (ABC), Executive Producer/Director, Days of Our Lives (NBC), Producer/Director, Mini-Series, Monarch Cove (Lifetime), Director, The Bold and The Beautiful (CBS).

Kim Hlavac (Phoebe)

Kim Hlavac graduated from the prestigious NYC High School Of Performing Arts and received her BFA in theatre arts & film in George Morrison’s company from SUNY/Purchase. Her New York theater credits include Beatrice in “MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING” opposite Stanley Tucci as Benedict directed by Theodore Mann. Edna in “WAITING FOR LEFTY’ directed by Howard Da Silva. Gertrude Stein’s “LISTEN TO ME,” directed by Lawrence Kornfeld. She played Lauren Phillips in the daytime drama “ANOTHER WORLD”. Kim is a proud member of Los Angeles VS & Station House. Kim would like to thank Bernadette Armstrong for providing and supporting the platform for new writers & directors to explore different avenues of their creativity. Kim has written, directed & acted in several pieces for Open-door playhouse and has thoroughly enjoyed each experience. She is thrilled to be part of celebrating women in theatre.

Amy Marcs ( Angela)

Amy Marcs is an actress, writer, producer, and voice-over artist. Her voice can be heard on numerous national network television, radio, and political campaigns. You can currently hear her on “Unsung,” the scripted rock and roll comedy podcast. She is the writer and producer of the critically acclaimed autobiographical show “Nice T!ts.” which she has performed to sold-out crowds at The PIT in NYC, The Project Y’s Women in Theatre Festival, The Alliance for the Arts.

Theatre Conspiracy in Fort Myers Florida, and Cape May Playhouse. In Feb 2020 right before the shutdown, the Women of Broadway’s Hadestown performed her show to a sold-out house at The Triad Theater in NYC. Amy has partnered with Avon 39 charity, the walk to end breast cancer, Hadassah of Boston, and the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Princeton.

Amy has performed at regional theaters across the country, some of her favorite roles include: Gorgeous in “The Sisters Rosensweig”, Myrtle in “Kingdom of Earth”, and Lucille in ‘Gemini”. Amy was part of an iconic “Harold team” at The Upright Citizens Brigade Théâtre In NYC. She was a Professor of Acting at The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, for the past 14 years and currently teaches acting and Voice Over at TOA in Hollywood.
