Virginia Youngren (Playwright) holds a PhDs in English Literature and Counseling Psychology. She has continued to maintain a long-time practice as a clinical psychologist and psychoanalysis. She is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a student of forensic psychology with an interest in writing about the psychology of crime.

Her films in distribution include but are not limited to Turnover (2019); Dr. Megavolt: From Greek to Superhero Dr. Megavolt (2015); Claudia’s Crescent Kick (Short - 2011); and I Heard The Mermaids Singing! Heard The Mermaids Singing (Short - 2008)

Director

Joanne McGee (Siri)

Joanne McGee (Director) has been with Open-Door Playhouse for several shows, as both an actor and director.  As an actor, she has played Annie in the Annie and Frannie Go to the Mall, Annie and Frannie Go to the Bar, Babs in Scars, and Frau Schmit in Lost Dog. She has directed, The Christensen Brothers and A Wake.  She has been a professional actor for the last 45 years in regional theater, TV, Film, Commercials, and Voice Overs.  She also has been a Director here in LA. for a decade.  She has received an Ovation Award for her role as Barbara in Caught in the Net.  She has developed a learning program called, Performing Art, for ages 9-90.  She is also an art teacher and writer, caregiver, and mom. She has always loved listening to, Radio Theatre, and is so thrilled to be a part of this experience.

Cast:

Brian Graves (Allen)

Trained at the famed Asolo Conservatory, Brian is a classically trained actor, who was raised on a small Arabian horse farm in Oregon. The farm's inspiration came from his mother's love of the Walter Farley Black Stallion series. By age 13, Brian was actively breaking horses and contributing to the family farm. The acting bug struck in high school, where Brian was cast in the local production of A Christmas Carol. Educating himself in all aspects of the stage, Brian has worked as a master flyman, scene painter, carpenter, electrician, and technical director, as well as an actor. He enjoyed a short stint as the Technical Director for Denison University before returning to acting full time. Brian has starred in the pilots for Urban Cowgirl and Darkstone, as well as several indie films. He remains active in the Los Angeles theatre scene where he has starred in over thirty productions in the past ten years.

Rachel Bryant (Wendy)

Rachel Amanda Bryant is an actress, producer, and cat-lover based out of Los Angeles. Recent work includes: “Yes Day” (Netflix), “In Bed with a Killer” (Lifetime) and the role of Nora in “A Doll’s House” (Murmur Theater). She is currently on the film festival circuit with the horror film “Wrightwood.” When not acting or producing, Rachel is usually befriending neighborhood cats, watching a Star Wars" film (her favorite character is Princess Leia) or cheering on the Denver Broncos.

Felicia Taylor E. (Brenda)

Felicia Taylor E. an author, poet, performer, and arts facilitator. Her work has been published and featured by the Los Angeles Poetry Anthology, Poets & Writers, Heroes of Los Angeles Anthology, DSTL Arts, and the Los Angeles Poet Society.

Her belief in the healing part of poetry, creative writing and performances; has guided her to present poetry and story performances; along with creative workshops collaborating with museums, schools, and colleges.

“Southern Spiced: A Brown Girl’s Tale” is her first book of poetry. A mini memoir, about life growing up in the 1970’s South. A journey of self identity and inner strength, shared through narrative poetry.

Goreti da Silva (Taywana)

Since moving to Los Angeles from Canada, Goreti da Silva has worked in many films, tv programs, theatre, and improv shows. Most recently, you may have seen her on Big Little Lies, a Toyota commercial, or heard her voice in one of many radio plays on Opendoorplayhouse.org.

Goreti was awarded The Michael Grossman Most Inspirational Award for her body of theatre work in the Desert; and she won the Valley Theatre Award for her work in “Park Plays: Portland”.

When not performing, Goreti fills her "well" by teaching Improv, Theatre Arts, Playwriting, and Acting to underserved youth who write plays in which they later perform. Though Goreti has produced and directed dozens of plays, she continues to be surprised, delighted and inspired by our next generation of leaders.

Morgan Hill (Carla)

Morgan Eliza Hill (Carla) is a classically trained, award winning actor raised by theatre artists.

Morgan has lived and performed throughout Utah, Las Vegas, and now in Los Angeles with her 4 kids, Vienna the cat, and her devastatingly handsome boyfriend.

Some previous roles include: Sally/Mary Bailey in Its A Wonderful Life: The Live Radio Play, Kate in Taming of the Shrew, Lady Macbeth in Macbeth, Laura Wingfield in The Glass Menagerie, Catherine in The Foreigner, Nina in The Seagull, Baby Ange/Morgan in General Hospital.
